East end Lions captain resigns over attack

    East end Lions captain Yeami Dunia has in a press release dated November 25th 2021 announced that he has resigned from the club over a violent attack he received at the Siaka Steven Stadium.

    According to the letter, the right-back tendered his resignation from Lions effective immediately.

    Yeami said in consultation with his parents he has unanimously agreed to resign from East end Lions. He extends his thanks to the club management, fans, and colleagues.

    What did the law say about a player and club contract termination:

    According to Ibrahim Sorie Mansaray Esq, a contract between a footballer player and a club can be terminated either by mutual agreement or misconduct. He said FIFA law made provision for unilateral termination of a contract if the player or club can show a “JUST CAUSE”. He said what constitutes just cause in terminating contact is not quite clear on this point.

    Yeami Dunia who is a strong contender to be part of Leone Stars’ delegation in the Africa cup of Nations revealed that at this point he wants to focus on the National team.

    On November 7th, 2021, after East end Lions were held to a one-all draw by SLIFA angry fans were reported to attack the East end Lions dressing room at the Siaka Steven Stadium where several players were left injured.

    Yeami Dunia according to club sources has four years contract with East end lions. He was part of the club’s unbeaten run and league champion success in 2018/19 premier league.

    The right-back has been highly link to league leader Bo Rangers who according to report have met with the player and his parents.

    East end Lions football club at the time of the publication of this story has not made any official statement. But a source within the club disclosed to this writer that the club will take a position to the public.
