    Former Chelsea and Ghana coach in Sierra Leone Former Chelsea and Ghana head coach Avram Grant is in Sierra Leone on a diplomatic mission. The Israeli-born has been in the country for the last four days now. Grant on his arrival met with the minister of foreign affairs professor David Francis where he expressed his motive for coming to Sierra Leone. According to sources in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the former English Premier League manager is in Freetown to establish a network with Sierra Leone’s foreign office. Avram Grant who manages Ghana national football team (Blackstars) on Tuesday, 9 November 2021, met with the minister of sports Ibrahim Nylenkeh at his Bishop’s office, where they discussed football development in Sierra Leone. Despite steering the team into the Champions League and League Cup finals, as well as contesting the Premier League title to the last day, his contract was terminated at the end of the season.Grant returned to Portsmouth as director of football in October 2009, and was made manager the following month. After the club’s relegation to the Football League Championship Grant resigned and, on 3 June 2010, was appointed as manager of West Ham United,a role he held up until 15 May 2011, when he was sacked after the club was relegated to the Football League Championship.Grant was appointed coach of the Ghana national football team in 2014.
