Orange- Sierra Leone has on February 8th 2022, at their head office in Freetown announced the sponsoring of four premier leagues clubs with the sum of One billion Leones. The publication of the sponsorship package was done by the Orange-SL chief executive officer (CEO) Aminata Kane Ndiaye. She disclosed to the gathering that football is part of her DNA and she is proud of the performance of Sierra Leone in the just concluded Africa cup of nations in Cameroon. Madam Aminata said football transcends everything and they are happy to launch their partnership with premier league football clubs in the country which she said can benefit the both parties.
The Orange-SL CEO reminded the audience that in 2019 they sponsor the Sierra Leone premier which was a success around the country with the introduction of the players of the match awards.
CEO Aminata revealed a total of one billion Leones will be shared among four premier league clubs which are; FC. Kallon, FC. Johansen, Wusum Stars, and Diamond Stars.
The four clubs as part of the package disclosed would benefit from an internet service facility, the profile of their clubs on their social media handles, and give media courage to all their matches with their partner radios.
The sponsorship package released from Orange is the biggest so for clubs football. The second phase of the premier league is expected to resume on Friday, 11th, 2022 between Central Parade vs East end Lions.
The General Secretary of FC. Kallon Alhaji Komba disclosed that they are delighted to partner with Orange-SL which has contributed immensely to the development of football in the Country. He said their current crop of players in the senior side were scouted from the Orange rising stars competition.
Komba affirmed that they are going to take advantage of the Orange partnership and provide the leverage and market value to the mobile company. Speakers from FC. Johansen, Wusum Stars, and Diamond Stars thanked the telecommunication company for supporting their clubs and promised to rally behind their fans and district teams to connect their phones to Orange- SL.
The event which was titled ‘Orange-SL sponsor football clubs press conference’, was witnessed by the staff of the company, media, representative from the National Sports Authority (NSA,) and the Minister of sport.
